Today a fire broke out in a chalet along the road from us. Rumour has it that an electrical fault – in a tumble dryer – started things off. The chalet still stands, thanks I am sure to the volunteer fire brigade. They can be seen practising often and once in a while, they have to turn out for the real thing.
For those of us who come here to ski, it’s not often that the real world intrudes, but it does now and again.
