The weather forecast promised some sun today, but early on the snow was still falling heavily – another night’s worth, thank you very much – and visibility was poor. However, along the valley towards Interlaken there were blue skies. Keeping faith, I was on the 9.45am cable car.
Faith was rewarded, as the sun shone all day until the usual late afternoon gloom kicked in. Mannlichen had improved beyond recognition from yesterday’s ploughed field. The mountain was busier than yesterday and the moguls soon appeared. Wixi in the afternoon was a small mountain range of snow hills.
A tiring but great day brought 6,993 vertical metres in 14 lift rides and 40 kilometres travelled.
