After the warm weather last month, we have, in March, a new normal. The days have been cold throughout the month. This is good news so far as the rest of the season is concerned. The other features of the month continued, with a cold wind to add to an already cold day and, of course, the usual dearth of skiers. The 9.45am cable car was under occupied again and when Mrs IS arrived on Mannlichen in the early afternoon, almost deserted.

The conditions were fantastic and the late afternoon produced the best run of the season, with great snow on the racecourse from the start hut to the finish line. A final run on the slalom course was less good and it was very stodgy on the steep pitch half way down. It is not every day you stick in the snow at such an angle.
The day brought 9,052 vertical metres in 20 lift rides and 53 kilometres travelled.
