Winter has definitely arrived in the Bernese Oberland. Overnight, it snowed heavily. Early this morning, the sky was still overcast, but some blue in the uniform grey appeared before breakfast was eaten.
It didn’t seem that cold when leaving home, but on the mountain, it was definitely chilly, with a temperature of -13 degrees at the top of the Eigernordwand lift.

The local skiers showed their usual early season enthusiasm and it was as busy today as almost anytime last season. Tomorrow is a school day, however, and by the early afternoon the mountain had quietened. The sun had come and gone through the morning, but with most of the skiers on their way home, a pale sun shone on empty pistes for the last runs of the day.
Two early season days have brought 9,525 vertical metres in 39 lift rides and 62 kilometres travelled.
Great to see you have arrived safely and without the quarantine! Hopefully on our way on the 18th 1 tests for holiday 2 tests on holiday and another once back on day 2. Hopefully we will be clear.
