It has been a cold, bright day on the mountain. In the Lauterbrunnen valley below, the cloud was heavy, stretching into the distance in a uniform white pillow. The ski slopes were the place to be, but save for a rush hour just around 10.00am, they were fairly quiet all day.

This blog came to a shuddering halt a few days ago when I made an unexpected trip to the U.K. It was a fairly frantic few days and typing even a few words seemed impossible. It has been a good day today, though, back in the mountains.
Sunny, cold skiing brought 10,967 vertical metres in 23 lift rides and 57 kilometres travelled.
