When the wind blows, the birds come down from the mountain and into the village. A line of Choughs on the balcony railing early on didn’t promise well for the day.
Maybe the birds liked the thought of a change of scene, as the morning was not bad at all. It was grey but the visibility on piste was workable and the wind manageable. Snow set in early on, but turned to rain in the afternoon. It wasn’t heavy, but it was irritatingly persistent.

At some point in a slightly damp day, the rain stopped and for an hour Wixi offered great skiing. The downhill course home was near perfect. The forecast for tomorrow is mixed; it might snow or it might rain, or both.
A day which was far better than expected by the local bird life brought 8,370 vertical metres in 18 lift rides and 48 kilometres travelled.
