This morning, the tail end of yesterday’s storm was still sitting over Wengen. It was snowing hard in the lower part of village. There were signs of better things to come though; the snow eased as I walked up to the high street and the Mannlichen cliff face was clear of cloud already.
At the top of the cable car, it was windy, but blue sky was by then taking the place of cloud. Conditions on piste were fantastically good. Although the village is very busy, the lift queues resembled a quiet day in January rather than high season.

For a couple of hours the sun shone brightly, before the clouds crept back during the afternoon. As the day wore on, the moguls in the fresh snow grew higher. The bumps at the top of the Honegg lift were particularly impressive.
A day of great snow conditions and serious moguls brought 9,188 vertical metres in 19 lift rides and 50 kilometres travelled.
