At the winter Olympics a couple of weeks ago the Skicross gold medal was won by local skier Ryan Regez. Today he returned home officially, although I think he has been around the village for a few days.
This afternoon the winner arrived on a special train to be met, it seemed, by most of the village. The station was packed, as was the main street. The ski school and local ski club formed a guard of honour and the bell ringers led the way from the station.

Despite the bitterly cold afternoon, by 5.00pm a massive party was underway on the nursery slopes. It may be that the village will be quiet in the morning.
On the mountain early on it was very cold. A few lifts were busy, but by the afternoon there was peace and quiet everywhere. A finger numbingly cold day brought 10,848 vertical metes in 23 lift rides and 57 kilometres travelled.
