The celebrations for Wengen’s Olympic champion are over and the half term holiday season has ended. Today, all has been quiet in Wengen. There wasn’t a queue for the cable car this morning or for any lift, other than Wixi late on.
It is still very cold, which is keeping the pistes in good condition. Spring may be close, but it hasn’t made it here just yet. There hasn’t been any fresh snow for a while now, but the mountain has plenty to offer for the few skiers who are here this week.
The season still has several weeks to run yet, but there will be probably the occasional crowded day rather than a people packed week.
Another excellent day on the mountain brought 11,407 vertical metres in 24 lift rides and 61 kilometres travelled.
