It snowed heavily last night. That was clear this morning with snow on the ground to Lauterbrunnen. There was still plenty of cloud early on, but by the time I reached the cable car the sky was a brilliant blue. At Mannlichen the skiing conditions had been transformed yet again. It was winter in all its glory.

The pistes were as good as we could want. There are still many runs closed though. The off piste conditions seem hit and miss. There were plenty of tracks in the powder on Mannlichen, but under the Eigernordwand chair there was grass showing through the snow. MeteoSwiss is hedging its bets for tomorrow’s forecast, with the possibility of snow, rain and sunshine all being offered for our delectation.
A magnificent skiing day brought 8,609 vertical metres in 17 lift rides and 47 kilometres travelled.
